Design
Our real mangalsutra is an ode to this Indian tradition with a slight modern twist for the modern-day wearers. This 22K mangalsutra starts with a gold chain from one end that is embellished with traditional lantern motifs. This gold chain merges into the black beaded chain and as both sides blend together the necklace is transformed into a single line of gold chain that ends with a lantern motif similar to the ones on the upper chain.
Inspiration
In the sixth century, when a woman was about to get married or would get married, a yellow thread would be tied to one of her wrists. The thread was tied to signify her marriage and it was also believed that it kept the evil at bay. Over time, this custom too evolved. The yellow thread evolved into a black beaded gold chain that is believed to absorb the negativity and keep the couple happy.
Style
This 22K mangalsutra by Purejewels is delicate and signifies the pure bond of marriage. It is crafted with 22K gold, bedazzled with a modern silhouette like no other mangalsutra and completed with the hand-sewn chain with mini black beads, therefore a perfect accessory for her.
