PureJewels Silver Tola

The ‘tola’ is a unit of weight that dates back to the 16^th century.  It comes from the Sanskrit word ‘tol’ (weight) and was once used as a standard measure for grains, seeds and gold.  In the 1950s metric weight was introduced but the Tola was still used to weigh gold bars in India, Bangladesh, and other parts of South Asia.  Today it’s still a familiar term, especially among those who invest in precious metal, and we wished to keep it alive for another generation.
