Why Choose PureJewels for Women’s Jewellery?
- A family legacy from Nairobi to Green Street: PureJewels was founded in 1950 in Nairobi, Kenya, by master jeweller Bhanji Gokaldas. His sons brought the craft to London in 1975, opening on Green Street in East London — in the heart of the South Asian community the family has served for generations. Today, the third generation continues this work. When you buy from PureJewels, you are buying from a family that has been making jewellery for women since long before most competitors existed.
- Designer collections exclusive to PureJewels: The Armari, Rosettes, Vinyasa, Diya, Lotus, Elchi, Maharani, Anusha, Nirvana, Merak, Samaa, and Tembo collections are designed in-house by our own creative team and made exclusively for PureJewels. You cannot buy these designs anywhere else in the world.
- London Assay Office hallmark on every piece: Every piece of women’s jewellery at PureJewels — however small, however lightweight — is independently hallmarked. This is your legal guarantee of gold purity, not a seller’s claim.
- Traditional and contemporary under one roof: We make a 22ct gold kangan for a bride’s wedding day and a minimalist diamond solitaire for an anniversary. We stock a plain baby bangle from £176 and a 63g Anusha bridal choker at £5,500. The breadth of the collection reflects the breadth of the women we serve.
- Green Street showroom — more than what is online: New designs arrive in the showroom before they are photographed and listed online. If you are looking for a bridal piece, a gift for a significant occasion, or something specific that you haven’t been able to find, visit us at 290–292 Green Street or open Live Chat before assuming it doesn’t exist.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best everyday gold jewellery for women?
For everyday wear, the most practical pieces are lightweight, secure, and low-maintenance. A foxtail or spiga chain at 16″–18″ (2–3g) in 22ct gold is the most popular daily chain. Gold stud earrings (0.5–1.5g) are the safest everyday earring — they sit flat and do not catch on clothing. A plain gold ring or slim bangle adds quiet presence without being cumbersome. All of these can be worn through a working day, cleaned monthly with warm soapy water, and kept without specialist care.
What is the difference between 22ct and 18ct gold jewellery for women?
22ct gold (916) contains 91.6% pure gold and has the deep, rich yellow colour associated with traditional South Asian jewellery. It is the preferred purity for traditional designs, bangles, plain rings, and pieces where the richness of gold is the primary statement. 18ct gold (750) contains more alloy, making it harder and more scratch-resistant — it is the preferred choice for diamond-set pieces where durability of the setting matters. Both are available across our women’s collection and both are fully hallmarked.
Can I visit PureJewels in person to see the women's collection?
Yes — and we strongly recommend it for any significant purchase. Our showroom at 290–292 Green Street, Forest Gate, London E7 carries the full women’s collection including pieces not yet photographed and listed online. New designs arrive regularly. Our advisors can help you find the right piece for any occasion — daily wear, gifting, bridal — and advise on styling, sizing, and coordination with pieces you already own. No appointment is needed for a general visit, though calling ahead is helpful for bridal consultations.
Do you offer bespoke or custom women's jewellery at PureJewels?
Yes — PureJewels accepts bespoke commissions for women’s jewellery. If you have a specific design in mind — a necklace that coordinates with a piece you already own, a ring to mark a specific occasion, or a pendant based on a meaningful symbol — our design team can work with you from sketch to finished piece. Visit our Green Street showroom or contact us via Live Chat to begin. Lead times for bespoke pieces are typically 4–8 weeks.
