Engagement Ring Styles at PureJewels

Our engagement ring collection is built around four core styles — solitaire, halo, cluster, and our signature Lotus Bud — with a range of metals and stone choices that span the full spectrum from traditional to contemporary.

Solitaire Engagement Rings

A single diamond in a four- or six-claw setting. The solitaire is the most classic and enduring engagement ring form — its longevity is in its simplicity. The stone is the focus; everything else is made to serve it. We offer round brilliant, oval, cushion, and emerald cut diamonds in solitaire settings, in 18ct white, yellow, and rose gold and in platinum. Natural and lab-grown diamonds available.

Halo Engagement Rings

A central diamond surrounded by a ring of smaller diamonds, which collectively amplify the apparent size and brilliance of the centre stone. The halo is particularly popular in the South Asian community as an engagement ring — the visual impact is significant at every price point. We offer round halo, cushion halo, and oval halo settings.

Cluster Rings

Multiple diamonds set together to create a single composite display. Cluster rings offer exceptional visual impact — a diamond-heavy look that reads as larger than any individual stone — at price points accessible across the engagement ring range. A traditional choice in British South Asian and British Caribbean communities.

PureJewels Lotus Bud Collection — Our Signature Design

The Lotus Bud is PureJewels’ own engagement ring design, created in our Green Street workshop and not available anywhere else. A cluster of diamonds arranged to evoke the closed petals of a lotus — one of the most significant flowers in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain symbolism. Available from £5,150 to £9,100. The Lotus Bud is our most significant and most gifted bespoke design for South Asian engagements.

Metals: 18ct Gold, 22ct Sunrise Gold & Platinum

For engagement rings set with diamonds, 18ct gold is the standard: its higher alloy content makes it harder than 22ct, holding prongs and settings more securely over decades of daily wear. We offer 18ct white, yellow, and rose gold across most of the collection.

  • 18ct White Gold: the most popular choice for diamond engagement rings — neutral tone focuses the eye on the stone
  • 18ct Yellow Gold: classic, warm, and increasingly popular as part of the “old gold” aesthetic among younger buyers
  • 18ct Rose Gold: a romantic, modern choice; the warm pinkish tone particularly suits oval and cushion-cut diamonds
  • 22ct Sunrise Gold: PureJewels’ own 22ct formulation — a deeper, richer yellow than standard 18ct; available for select designs
  • Platinum: the hardest and rarest precious metal; naturally white (no rhodium plating required); ideal for buyers who want a maintenance-free setting

Natural vs Lab-Grown Diamonds

Both are real diamonds — identical in chemical composition, hardness (Mohs 10), and optical properties. The difference is origin: a natural diamond formed over billions of years; a lab-grown diamond over weeks. Lab-grown diamonds are typically 50–70% less expensive than equivalent natural stones, allowing a significantly larger or higher-clarity diamond for the same budget. We offer both; GIA certification available on request for either.

Bespoke Engagement Rings — Our Speciality

If you have a design in mind — a setting you’ve seen elsewhere, a family stone you want to reset, a sketch on your phone — bring it to PureJewels. Bespoke design is something we have offered for decades, not a new upsell. Our Green Street workshop produces engagement rings entirely in-house, from CAD design to final polish. Typical bespoke lead time: 3–4 weeks. Consultation is free.

Engagement Ring Buying Guide

  • Set your metal first: this determines your options for stone and setting style
  • Natural vs lab-grown: decide on principle, then budget — your money goes much further with lab-grown
  • The Four Cs: Cut matters most for brilliance (round brilliant cuts return the most light); Colour and Clarity affect appearance; Carat is weight, not diameter
  • Check the gram weight of the band: heavier settings hold stones more securely over time
  • Engraving: from £75 at PureJewels — add a date, initials, or a short phrase to the inside of the band
  • Ring sizing: we can adjust ring size after purchase — contact us before assuming a ring cannot be resized
  • South Asian mangni: if the engagement ring will be given at a mangni ceremony, speak to us — we understand the ceremony, the context, and the family dynamics that inform the choice
Do you offer bespoke engagement rings?

Yes — bespoke engagement ring design is a PureJewels speciality. We have designed and made bespoke engagement rings in our Green Street workshop for over five decades. Bring us a design, a stone, a sketch, or an inspiration image and we will advise on feasibility, cost, and timescale. Consultation is free and without obligation.

Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds. They are graded on the same Four Cs scale and can be GIA-certified. The difference is origin and price — lab-grown diamonds are typically 50–70% less expensive, meaning a significantly larger or higher-quality stone for the same budget.

22ct Sunrise Gold is PureJewels’ own 22ct gold formulation — a richer, deeper yellow than standard 18ct gold, with the 916 gold content (91.6% pure gold) of traditional South Asian jewellery. It is available for select engagement ring designs where the deep gold colour is part of the design intention, particularly for South Asian customers who prefer the colour of traditional gold over the lighter tone of 18ct.

Most bespoke engagement rings take 3–4 weeks from final design approval to completion. If you are working to a specific date — a mangni ceremony, a holiday proposal, a birthday — tell us at the start and we will advise on realistic timescales. Rush orders may be possible for some designs.
